Giorgos Ventouris presents on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 21:30, at the Ai-Giannis Detis Park Theatre, the concert titled “Broken Quartet,” featuring his own compositions that merge three distinct musical worlds: the musical traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean, contemporary jazz, and classical music. The musicians of the Broken Quartet come from these three worlds and meet through Giorgos Ventouris’ compositions, with improvisation as their common denominator.
Giorgos Ventouris’ compositions have been presented in the courtyard of Ekatontapyliani as part of the Paros Festival, at the Foundation of Tinian Culture as a guest of the Tinos Jazz Festival, at music venues in Athens, and on the Third Program of Greek Radio, as well as on radio broadcasts abroad. His debut album was featured among the favorites of March 2019 on the Spanish Radio show Mundofonias.
Giorgos Ventouris was born and raised on the island of Paros. He studied classical guitar with Alexandros Zervas, jazz guitar with Vasilis Rakopoulos and Apostolis Leventopoulos, and classical double bass with Vangelis Zografos. He has performed in concerts both in Greece and abroad (Onassis Foundation New York, Greek National Opera, Onassis Cultural Centre, Colours International Dance Festival Stuttgart, Les Nuits de Fourvière Lyon, Urkult Festival Sweden, Festival Jazzycolors Paris, International Clarinet Festival Ankara, Fengaros Festival Cyprus, among others) with artists such as: Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Yordal Yoksan, Ross Daly, Stian Carstensen, Eliza Carthy, Serkan Cagri, Martha Mavroidi, Antonis Apergis, Aleka Kanellidou, Maria Farantouri, Elli Paspala, Rita Antonopoulou, Kostas Makedonas, Pantelis Thalassinos, Vasilis Lekkas, Lakis Chalkias, Kostas Thomaidis, Andreas Karakotas, Stathis Koukoulari, Nikos Oikonomidis, Lizeta Kalimeri, Grigoris Vasillas, Nikos Tatasopoulos, Babis Goles, and others.
