The jazz legend Franco Ambrosetti!

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the open-air Archilochos Theatre at Paros Park welcomes Franco Ambrosetti & Friends for a special evening dedicated to contemporary jazz, under the starry Aegean sky.

The legendary Swiss trumpeter and flugelhorn player Franco Ambrosetti, with more than fifty years of international career, is renowned for his lyrical, melodic and intimate approach, blending traditional jazz with modern elements. His impressive résumé includes collaborations with world-class musicians such as Kenny Clarke, Cannonball Adderley, Dexter Gordon, Phil Woods, Michael Brecker, Steve Coleman, John Scofield, Greg Osby, Geri Allen, Kenny Barron and many more. In 1987, Miles Davis himself—who rarely praised other musicians publicly—expressed his admiration for Ambrosetti in a radio interview.

With dozens of albums as leader, Franco Ambrosetti has left an indelible mark on the global jazz scene. In 2012, he composed Cycladic Moods, inspired by his life and creative experience in Paros, capturing the island’s unique energy. His most recent album, Sweet Caress (2024), has received rave reviews from the international press.
