After more than twenty years of concerts and tours in Greece and abroad, Martha Frintzila and the Kubara Project return with the spontaneity, warmth, and creative freedom that have defined them since their very first performance. Personal stories intertwine with universal experiences of love, friendship, loneliness, romance, relationships with others, and nature, in a performance where music serves as a common ground for connection.
Their musical journey features songs by great Greek and international artists, traditional melodies from Greece and around the world, unexpected covers, little-known rebetika songs, original compositions, and plenty of improvisation.
“The Kubara Project is essentially the sequel to the series called Kubara Project—the magical mystery tour. I’m the godmother—and these concerts are sort of like my musical adventures alongside the superheroes I have as musicians. This year, the Kubara Project presents to the audience a selection of songs we play at our live shows and performances—songs from my discography, 1960s-style Indian-inspired tunes, reworked traditional songs, obscure rebetiko songs, our own original compositions, and plenty of improvisation. The program also includes world-renowned masterpieces. The songs pass through us to continue their journey through time. In this fleeting shelter we offer them, they leave something behind.
