One of the most heartwarming and beloved stories in contemporary children’s literature. “Mr. Stink,” based on the book of the same name by the award-winning British author David Walliams, is brought to the stage in a theatrical adaptation by Andri Theodotou and directed by Dimitris Degaitis.
Following the great success of Gangsta Granny, the creative team returns to the imaginative world of David Walliams with a story filled with humour, emotion and humanity, captivating children and adults alike.
At the heart of the story is twelve-year-old Chloe, a lonely girl who often feels invisible both at school and at home. Her life changes when she meets Mr Stink, a homeless man with a kind heart, and his faithful dog, Duchess. An unexpected friendship develops between them, setting off a chain of surprising events and touching revelations that ultimately transform the lives of everyone involved.
With his trademark wit and compassion, David Walliams explores themes such as kindness, acceptance, forgiveness and second chances, while also addressing social exclusion, prejudice, bullying and homelessness with remarkable sensitivity. The result is a moving and entertaining production that encourages audiences to see the world—and the people around them—with greater empathy and a more open heart.
The performance takes place in the unique natural setting of the Paros Environmental & Cultural Park, on the protected peninsula of Ai-Yiannis Detis. Through Festival at the Park, Paros Park continues to offer high-quality cultural experiences for audiences of all ages, bringing together the power of theatre and the beauty of the Cycladic landscape.
