An orthopedic resident is assigned to a public hospital and discovers the tragicomic reality of daily life in the National Health System. As an orthopedic surgery resident, the character played by Argyris Xafis struggles to lay the groundwork for a respectable career. His sense of self will clash with the National Health System (ESY) in the early 1980s, during the system’s formative years. The course of his career and life will take us back to the adolescent years of modern Greece, when the government, having devoured all its food, grew so large that it decided to devour the entire country!
