In early June 2026, Paros Park opened Porto Naoussa Marina in the Bay of Naoussa — a new presence at sea for an organisation that has, for more than fifteen years, protected and shaped the northern peninsula of the island.
The decision to entrust the marina's operation to the Park was not incidental. Anyone familiar with the work being done on the Agios Ioannis Detis peninsula — the trails, the beaches, the maintenance of the landscape, the Festival at the Park, the stewardship of monuments and visitors — recognises the same approach: care, respect for the place, balance between use and preservation. The marina was born of the same logic, turned now toward the bay that the peninsula embraces from its northern side.
Naoussa is one of the most sheltered natural harbours in the Cyclades, and for centuries it has been a landmark for those sailing the central Aegean. With the opening of Porto Naoussa Marina, the bay gains the modern infrastructure that today's vessels require — stern-to berthing, water and power supply, waste reception facilities, a harbour master — without losing the character of the place. The traditional caïques still tie up at the old port. The fishing boats still head out at dawn. The marina adds to the landscape; it does not replace it.
For crews arriving in Naoussa from the sea, the marina offers transit, short-stay and annual berthing in one of the loveliest settings in the Aegean, with direct access to the village and to everything that makes it what it is. Across the water, on the other side of the bay, stretches the Agios Ioannis Detis peninsula — the Park and the marina connected through the waters of Naoussa, the two facets of Paros Park's work, the one on land and the one at sea.
As in the Park, the principle is the same: a place that stays what it should be, not what its visitors might wish to find. Porto Naoussa Marina is born within this tradition, and it will be judged by the same measure.
