The play of Dimos of Avdeliodis, which excited and was praised by the public and the reviews at the ATHENS FESTIVAL 2013, returns with the exquisite actress Katerina Gatzogia.
The play takes place in Zakynthos, on the occasion of the feeling of fear that flooded National poet Dionysios Solomos, when he saw a deformed, passionate Woman of the island, cursing with fury the refugee women from the besieged Messolonghi, who came to Zakynthos to ask for food for the imprisoned men under the threat of the Ottoman Turks.
This event caused frustration and pain to the Poet who could not defend and protect these Messolonghi women.
Writing this work frees him from the burden of this guilt, - because he detected and he realized that his feeling of fear towards this Woman was misleading. The fear that seized him as the living being of evil was an illusion, because a completely different person was revealed in front of him. The work is a timeless legacy of humanism and self-knowledge, at the height of a Goethe, who also detects the ‘evil’ with the work of ‘Faust’.
