For the second consecutive year, Paros Park is collaborating with the Greek National Opera (GNO) and hosting its Educational & Social Activities in Paros, effectively enhancing children's and young people's access to contemporary culture and musical creation.
Following the high turnout and success of last year's events "Dad... shall we dance?" and "Pocket Opera & Ballet", this year, Paros Park welcomes the new interdisciplinary arts education program. "Opera in 3 classes", which will be implemented in Paros on March 2026, in collaboration with secondary education schools.
Specifically, the program will involve the second-year classes of the Parikia and Naoussa junior high schools. Naoussa and Archilochos. The program lasts four (4) weeks and is aimed at secondary school students.
The central focus of the program is a new, original musical theater project entitled "Teen e-opera@" , through which students actively participate in a collective educational and creative process. The aim of the program is to effectively integrate opera and musical theater into school life through an experiential, creative, and participatory educational methodology.
The project highlights the voice and inner world of adolescents, transforming their everyday experiences into a shared artistic experience. The music and text combine elements of contemporary and experimental opera, body percussion, choral speech, and electroacoustic practices. These sound levels coexist live on stage with the physical and vocal sounds of the students, without requiring any prior musical training.
Through weekly meetings during school hours and under the guidance of the educational and artistic team of the Greek National Opera, participants will become familiar with the basic tools and aesthetic principles of opera and will gradually prepare the final presentation of the project, which will be presented to the school community and the wider public of Paros.
Through its ongoing collaboration with the Greek National Opera, Paros Park confirms its role as an active cultural institution on the island and contributes significantly to linking education with contemporary artistic creation.
Participation in the program is free of charge.
