Βοτανικός Κήπος – Κυκλαδική χλωρίδα

The Association of Friends of the Environmental and Cultural Park of Paros presented to the Board of Directors of the Park the progress of the Botanical Garden project, located at the entrance of the Open Theatre Archilochos. The project was implemented by the Friends Association with the co-financing of the Park and the Cyclades Preservation Fund.
More than 70 species of plants of the Cycladic flora, with curated signage in Greek and English, are located in the small botanical garden, enriching the experience of visitors to the Park. The main aim of this project is to further highlight the importance of Cycladic flora and the importance of conserving biodiversity in the fragile island ecosystem of the Cyclades.
The prospects of expanding the garden and raising environmental awareness for locals and foreign visitors are endless! An example that fills us with optimism is the small botanical garden created in the Primary School of Naoussa, a real "child" of the Park garden, which was again funded by the CPF and implemented by the Nautical Club of Naoussa, Naias. We hope for more and bigger gardens, bringing the new generations of islanders closer to natural ecosystems, as the latter will need their protection from the many challenges of the future.
